Possibilities

Ann Wiser completed my Profitable Author class as part of her homeschool curriculum, thanks to her mom (a participant in my Achieving the Impossible class). She did the entire course then and then reviewed it again recently.

I’m excited to announce that she has finally published the first book in her new series! (She is only 18 years old!) Read more here

Here is why she wrote the book, in her own words:

Hello! My name is Anne Wiser. I am a passionate author and have loved writing since I can remember. I published my first book, Sarah and the Journey, at eight years old. Becoming a published author was a dream come true, but that was only the beginning of my story.

For the next few years I went from one book idea to another, creating characters and getting excited, only to have the idea peter out and have a new one step into its place.

During this process, I suffered from the effects of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse. During that difficult time in my life, I found healing in stories. Stories like Harry Potter, Aladdin, Newsies, A Little Princess, The Lord of the Rings, Oliver Twist, The Tempest, and others provided me with a new world, ways to make it through the challenges in my life, lessons about myself, and with a sense of hope and freedom. True stories from history like Joseph of Egypt, Daniel in the Lion’s Den, George Washington, Joan of Arc, William Bradford, and many others also helped me, giving me friends, examples, encouragement, and again, hope. Another important thing stories offered me was validation, telling me I was not alone.

During times when I was isolated from the rest of the world, books were one thing that gave me the freedom I longed for. I finally began writing the series I am currently working on, Freedom, named after the desire of my heart. This series fell into place. The plot unrolled before me, the characters seemed to introduce themselves to me, and I grew to treasure this story in my heart. It contains the magic, depth, relatability, and lessons I have found in the stories I love and throughout my life.

This series is a piece of my very soul, and I would like to share it with you now. I believe God used stories to speak to me and help me through my trials. It is my hope that, even if you don’t believe in God, you will find some treasure in my writing, whether that is a friend, comfort, validation, laughter, hope, excitement, freedom, a new world, or even just pure entertainment.

Wishing you well with all your endeavors,

Anne Wiser

Here is the “Author’s Note” from the book:

Dear Readers,

I know that the author’s note usually goes at the beginning of the book, but I thought it would be easier to put it here, so I don’t have to worry about spoiling anything for you. Also, whenever I finish a book that is part of a series, I’m eager to read whatever else I can get my hands on, so hopefully you’ll read this note.

I love to read, imagine, and write, and have loved it since I can remember. The reason I love writing has evolved, but at the core it is because I love to create. That love of creation has evolved to include a love of people, and a love of you, my readers.

I have always been the type of person to become lost in a good fiction book, or a nonfiction book that is written in the form of a novel. Those kinds of books have helped me during my life in many ways, including helping me make it through my experiences with abuse. Books have given me new places, times, and worlds to explore, opening my mind. They have given me healing as I process feelings from my life along with the characters. They have given me validation when a character feels something I have felt, voices something I could not put into words, or goes through something I have experienced. All of this has given me a kind of friendship that is unique to books. My favorite characters feel like some of my best friends. Books have helped me heal and not feel so alone.

It is my hope that my books will provide new times, worlds, and ideas for you to explore. I hope you will laugh, cry, and heal along with the characters as I have done. Some of the feelings they have are similar to my own, and I have healed as I have written this book (and the upcoming sequels to this book).

Aladdin, Lydia, Kyle, Owen, Dick, Genie, Diego, Richard, and even more characters from upcoming books have become a part of my soul, and I love them. It can be difficult to share things that are so much a part of the soul as my book is for me, but I want to share it with you. I hope you will find room in your heart for these characters and their story as it goes forward. I hope most of all that you will find a treasure in these pages that will help you in some small way.

Remember, you are a child of God, He loves you, and I feel love for you too, even though I may not ever meet you in person. Do what is right, no matter the cost. God’s got this.

Kind regards,

Anne Wiser
